The Education and Training Committee seeks to provide a programme of continuing education and training to the Criminal Bar by way of a series of online evening lectures and symposiums, together with our in-person Saturday Conferences for Spring and Winter. The Committee is committed to a programme that offers practitioners with the means of earning free or inexpensive CPD hours.

The Kalisher Essay Competition - Deadline to apply 28.02.25

Friday 28 February 2025

Carries a prize of £2,000 for the winner and £500 for the runner up. The competition is open to everyone in a pupillage specialising in criminal law.

Criminal Mind Research Network Launch Event

The Criminal Mind Research Network is being established to look at the doctrine of automatism, which applies when the person is acting without any conscious control over their actions.
This event will be a forum for discussion of the issues in this area, and will look to establish the priorities for future events.
