Danny Robinson KC (Barrister at 5 King’s Bench Walk)
Danny Robinson was called in 1993. He is a member of Chambers at 5 King’s Bench Walk, where he practises criminal law. He became King’s Counsel in 2019. He prosecutes and defends cases involving homicide and fraud. He has been a member of the Bar Council’s Ethics Committee since 2016.
Danny will speak to the ethical aspects of barristers’ social media use, including guidance issued by the Bar Council and the BSB.
James Rossiter (CBA Communication Officer)
James Rossiter has handled communications and media for the CBA chair, officers, and wider interests of the membership since April 2015. He has over 25 years of experience in board level communications, legal and commercial advisory roles across UK, European and US listed and private firms, and regulated professional services. A former practising solicitor,ֶ qualifying in 1997, James spent 10 years as a staff journalist at a number of leading nationals followed by 15 years in strategic communications. He advises on crisis control and reputation management.
James will be speaking on the following topics:
- Maintaining boundaries: curation of personal to protect and enhance the professional and wider profession.
- Building a professional profile in a controlled manner. Use of main forms of media and communications, including Twitter, linkedin, and other social media platforms as part of a wider online and in-person presence via broadcast, traditional media and public presence.
- Reputation management: the interplay of social media with mainstream media, other influencers, politics and regulators, chambers, employers and membership organisations
