Law Commission – contempt of court consultation event
On Monday 11th November (6:00pm – 7:15pm) the Law Commission will be running an online webinar on contempt of court reform.
The Commissioner for Criminal Law, Professor Penney Lewis, will present an overview of the Law Commission’s provisional proposals for reform which are set out in the contempt of court consultation paper. The presentation will include coverage of: liability for contempt in criminal, civil and family courts; interim remedies; procedure; representation, legal aid and costs; sanctions; transparency and publication of judgments; criminal records; and appeals. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
