Live links in Magistrates’ – 27.01.21

On 5th January 2021 the Lord Chief Justice issued a message, following the government announcement of further restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic, saying:

“remote attendance of all or some of those involved in hearings is the default position in all jurisdictions”.

The CBA and the CBA Young Bar Committee has been engaged for a number of months requesting clarity for those members who attend the magistrates’ court. This guidance issued by the senior judiciary for the magistrates’ court should provide as a helpful guide for our most junior members.
