“NOT ON MY WATCH”

The Chairman and 6 others went to meet with the Lord Chancellor and his team on Monday.

I am sorry to have to report that whilst each side heard the other courteously, he provided no indication he was prepared to revise the cuts.

On that basis I informed him that the Criminal Bar will not renew contracts on  VHCC’s at new rates and that they will not work on AGFs at revised rates.

We both maintained that dialogue should continue, but I expressed the sad view that despite illustrating that the cuts were unnecessary and promising we could work together to eliminate inefficiencies, we simply were not being listened to.
